Trick or Treat (A Reality)

Trick or treat, I hear you repeat

Bitter not sweet, Bitter not sweet

It took me a while to realise

What I thought was love was just a disguise

I don’t know what’s us anymore

What’s the deal when you walk through the door

Thought you were the love of my life

What did I know about trouble and strife

I woke up in the centre of a scene

Face down on the kitchen floor

Like something out of Halloween

Afraid, my hear sore

Trick or treat, I hear you repeat

Bitter not sweet, Bitter not sweet

It took me a while to realise

What I thought was love was just a disguise

Push kick slap not, my chosen backing track

What hurts you makes you stronger, they say

I’m a fighter but, for how much longer

My mind screams leave, my heart beats stay

This is not how my life was meant to play

This is not how my life was meant to play

Losing my life/my mind

is not worth the price

Trick or treat, I hear you repeat

Bitter not sweet, Bitter not sweet

It tool me a while to realise

What I thought was love was just a disguise

With time, wounds heal,

Memories blur

Once trust is gone, you must move on

Before you are done, let it go,

Fly away, become someone,

You’re number 1,

Don’t look back, What ‘s gone is done

Trick or treat, I hear you repeat

Bitter not sweet, Bitter not sweet

It tool me a while to realise

What I thought was love was just a disguise

Trick or treat, Bitter or Sweet

You meant the world to me

But your brutality (reality) had me on my knees

    1. Thanks Gina, its pretty raw alright. With it being Halloween I thought it should make its first appearance. I wrote it in 2015, roughly when I realised I might be able to turn my hand to lyrics. Up until then I thought I was just a melody maker …. but I gave it a shot. Btw the melody is moderately. That’s my brand most of the time (horror underneath the icing). Recording it professionally next year i.e. Better quality than on voice record in the lav:) take care and thanks for the support xx
